Laura Suardi in 2018, at the age of 52, earned a bachelor’s degree at Accademia Santa di Giulia in Brescia. Before then, her professional commitments saw her involved in the family business, that did not allow her to devote herself to what she wished from an early age, painting.

In 2018, while she was still attending the Academy, she was selected for the Catel Award in Rome, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, an exhibition dedicated to the theme of homosexuality.

In 2019, she was chosen to exhibit at Sala Manzù in Bergamo, for the exhibition "Contemporary Masters" Art Expo 2019, curated by Phaos Associazione Culturale.

It is her wish to have a personal exhibition in the near future.

Laura Suardi loves to represent faces, mainly women's faces. The portrait represents, through the gaze, the soul of each person.

Laura Suardi shares the philosophical thought of Emmanuel Lévinas, who affirms that our relationship with the world, even before being a relationship with things, is a relationship with the Other. It is a priority relationship that the Western metaphysical tradition has hidden, trying to absorb and identify the other to itself, stripping him of his otherness.

Through the portrait Laura Suardi tries to revive this difference.
